Don't forget that buying it is giving money to a corporation that
enthusiastically supports digital restrictions management and generally
doesn't want users of their hardware to do anything else than what
was explicitly intended.
Even if you can free yourself from the control of that company,
you're still supporting the company by buying its products.

I.e. maybe the iPhone hardware is nice, but you'd better buy some real
Linux phone (Nokia, Openmoko) instead.
