[MLUG] US teacher detains student for using Linux - vnunet.com

This is a very stupid and counter-productive thread.  Someone is ignorant
and does something stupid.  She tells someone who knows a lot better.
Instead of explaining to her and people relevant to the issue the truth of
the matter, and making it a constructive learning positive experience for
open source, it was responded to sharply negative, and got the whole pack of
open source wolves wanting her name.

Luckily, the stupidity stopped, and the blogger has attempted some belated
constructive noises, which is what should have been the response in the
first place.   It barely ended "well", let's leave it there, and not let the
happy ending get ruined by 5,000 nutty slashdotters publishing her home
phone number...

This story reflects very badly on open source.
