DMT reports intermitten "surges" of noise. DMT is a diagnostic utility that
talks to DSL modems to get info about the modem & phone line. Every thing
seems fine and every 5 to 15 minutes max there is a spike of noise on the
line. I am pretty sure the issue is outside of my house since I went to the
demarc in my house, undid the screws and unhooked the cable going to the
rest of my house, and patched in a new phone cable with nothing else just
for the DSL modem, and the issue still occurs. ATM I patched a Y with the
rest of the house double-filtered, and the DSL line obviously unfiltered.
