I was thinking of the staffing costs. And if the cloud is really a server farm in your own city, with a fast pipe to the company premises, why employ a sysadmin when a PC Tech could do the job at a lower salary cost.

Well, first I think that there will still be demand for sys-admin as someone has to admin/maintain those networks that compose 'the cloud'
Now... the cloud... I don't want to start a debate or flame war, but what's the point anyway??? Why would I feel confident in sending my corporate data to an unknown network of computer ? ANd with the poor bandwidth (especially upload) and traffic caps, why is that such a good idea? You can do the same with your data safely stored on your server (provided you have redundancy and good backup strategy) and use a VPN to access your data from anywhere... 
I hate to see those add from Microsoft with the guy saying "To the cloud" and then showing him playing a movie from his home computer to his laptop in an airport. Man I have been doing that for year with a simple VPN... And my data is secure and I do not have to pay extra $$ per month for that...
Just my 2 cents...
